TECHNOLOGY IS RESHAPING THE REAL ESTATE INDUSTRY


The real estate industry is continuously changing as we see greater advances in technology today. We as real estate professionals must adapt our business as the world is becoming more and more reliant on technology. We are living in an age where the majority of the world’s population have access to the internet in the palm of their hand through smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices.

Technological advances have begun to reshape the real estate industry and how real estate is being marketed and delivered to consumers. We are moving past the days where print ads and the newspaper can be the main source of marketing to get a property sold. We are also seeing less and less office walk ins from potential customers. The majority of home buyers begin their search on the internet, therefore the most powerful and effective point of contact should start here.

In various parts of the world, the home buying process has become very sophisticated resulting in a more convenient home buying process for consumers thanks to technological advances. Virtual Reality is an example that has been becoming increasingly popular. Picture a scenario, where a potential home buyer can find a property they like online, make contact with the listing agent through email and schedule a virtual reality tour of the property, all before making physical contact with the agent and physically seeing the property. In fact, it is already being done in other parts of the world. Matterport is an example of technology that can take you on a 3D tour of a property, but technology changes quickly and we as real estate professionals must keep up with the pace.

I have made it my mission to continue to innovate and revolutionize the way that I market my clients’ properties. In order to get a property sold, it must achieve the maximum exposure possible, meaning it should be seen by as many people as humanly possible. It requires us as agents to adapt, think outside of the box, and be creative in order for our properties to be marketed in a way to get the attention of serious buyers, not only on a local level, but on an international level as well.
