Top 3 Islands in The Bahamas to Invest in Real Estate
The Bahamas is a beautiful country located just 50 miles off of the coast of the southern United States. This country is the home of some of the most beautiful and prestigious real estate in the world. The Bahamas is an archipelago made up of 700 islands, so it is difficult to choose just one when investing in real estate in this stunning country. I have narrowed down the islands to the top three when deciding which island has the best real estate, and real estate opportunities to invest in. The list is determined based on the volume of real estate activity occurring on the island, price, current and future resale values.
1. Nassau, New Providence
Nassau is the capital of The Bahamas and is located on the island of New Providence. There is no surprise that it tops the list at number one for the country’s best real estate. New Providence functions much like a business district for the country. The volume of real estate transactions that occur in New Providence far exceeds the volume in any of the other islands in The Bahamas. New Providence has such a great variation of real estate options, as there is a lot of inventory to choose from due to the high level of development on this island. There are many options in New Providence that can be purchased for under five hundred thousand dollars, however, there are quite a number of properties that can exceed well over one million dollars.
2. Abaco
Abaco is the largest of the three islands on this list, and falls in a close second place behind New Providence. Abaco is a group of islands, and is known for its amazing landscape, lush greenery and its wide variety of hotels and activities. Abaco is indeed a boaters paradise and is known for its great fishing. Abaco’s property values continue to increase, and has the second highest volume of real estate transactions amongst all of the other Islands in The Bahamas. Abaco has continued to maintain high resale values and is home to some of the country’s most luxurious properties. Development continues to occur on the island, one of the most notable developments being Bakers Bay on Great Guana Cay.
3. The Exumas
The Exumas are a chain of 365 islands and cays, and has made it to number three on my top list of islands to invest in real estate in The Bahamas. The Exumas are famously known for their crystal clear turquoise waters, and is where many people have had an opportunity to own a piece of The Bahamas in the form of a private island. The Exumas’ resale values have remained consistent and the volume of real estate activity remains high. The Exumas have become world famous for their Swimming Pigs, and has played a large factor in its popularity for stop over visitors. The Exumas have some of the most unique properties that you will ever encounter due to its beautiful natural water features and sandy beaches. Although property values are steadily increasing in The Exumas, there are still many affordable deals that you can take advantage of.
